Foreigners who hold work permits valid for
one year or more, as well as member of a limited liability company with two
members or more, owner of a one-member limited liability company, member of the
Board of Directors of a Vietnamese joint-stock company, can be granted a
Temporary Residence Card (TRC). The Temporary Residence Card is issued by the
immigration agency under the Ministry of Public Security, and will be valid
from 1 to 5 years. People granted the Temporary Residence Card can enter and
exit Vietnam without a visa within the valid terms of their Temporary Residence
Card.
CASES OF BEING GRANTED TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD
1.
Member
of a limited liability company with two members or more;
2.
Owner
of a one-member limited liability company;
3.
Member
of the Board of Directors of a Vietnamese joint-stock company;
4.
Foreign
lawyer who has been licensed by the Ministry of Justice to practice law in
Vietnam;
5.
Foreigner
(with a related work permit) working in a Vietnamese enterprise or a
representative office of a foreign company;
6.
Professional,
student, or trainee working or studying in a national program or project
approved by the government;
7.
Family
member of a residence permit holder (spouse, parents, or children under 18).
CONDITIONS FOR ISSUANCE OF A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD
1.
The
passport of the applicant must be a valid more than 1 year;
2.
In
cases of containing work permits, these work permits must have a minimum period
of 1 year from the time of temporary residence card application;
3.
Proof
of temporary residence registration with the local police department.
DURATION OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD
1.
The
duration of a temporary residence card issued less than the duration of the
passport for at least 30 days
2.
The
temporary residence card with the symbol E R3, LV1, LV2, DT and DH has a term
not exceeding 05 years
3.
Temporary
residence cards with the symbols NN1, NN2, TT has a term not exceeding 03 years
4.
Temporary
residence cards with the symbols PV1 LD has a term not exceeding 02 years
5.
The
expired temporary residence card will be considered to renew other one.
