WHICH COUNTRIES NEED A VISA FOR VIETNAM?

Technically, all foreign visitors need a visa before entering Vietnam. If you wish to be exempted Vietnam visa for your stay, you must be citizen or national of countries having exemption agreement with Vietnam.

1. Citizens of Brunei and Myanmar are granted bilateral visa-free entry no more than 14 days;

2. Citizens of Philippines are granted bilateral visa-free entry no more than 21 days;

3. Citizens of Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are granted bilateral visa-free entry no more than 30 days;

4. Citizens of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Finland, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belarus are granted unilateral visa-free entry no more than 15 days

5. Citizens with APEC business cards from member economies of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) are granted visa-free entry with no more than 60 days of residence;

6. For tourists to Phu Quoc, Vietnam: Foreigners and abroad residing Vietnam citizens entering Vietnam through an international border and travelling to Phu Quoc island, then residing under 15 days are granted Vietnam visa free entry. Passport are required at least 45 day validity. After entering Phu Quoc, in case travelers want to have a visit to other destinations or reside in the island more than 15 days, they will be offered Vietnam visa by the Immigration department right in the island;

Note: Kindly note that the citizens of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Finland, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belarus are granted unilateral visa-free entry no more than 15 days, after 15 days visa exemption they must leave Vietnam for their home or another country and it takes at least 30 days of waiting since the latest date of Vietnam exit to enter again without Vietnam visa.

Vietnam among top 5 countries to visit in 2015

Malaysia’s independent newspaper, Malay Mail Online, has delivered its rankings and suggestions for travellers for the coming year and cites Vietnam as one of the top five destinations that stand out from the crowd.

The newspaper reported that Vietnam has declared 2015 its national year of tourism, meaning that there has never been a better time to visit.

Special events and shows for tourists will be held at the country’s monuments and cultural heritage sites, such as the imperial fortress of Thang Long.

Danang, a city located between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, topped Tripadvisor’s list of the best destinations of 2015. With its Buddhist sanctuaries and beautiful beaches, the destination is winning over more and more members of the website’s travel community.

Rounding out the top five are Namibia, Panama and Nicaragua, Lithuania, and Mons, Belgium.

Vietnam has set the target of welcoming 8.5 million foreigners and 41 million domestic visitors this year, grossing more than US$12 billion from the tourism sector.

UK Telegraph names Vietnam a world’s best country

Vietnam was announced as one of the top 20 Telegraph readers’ most favorite countries, with votes cast by almost 90,000 people in the widest-ranging travel survey of its kind.

The winning of a prestigious award like this, voted by the public, is a great accolade for the country and bodes well for our tourism industry, a government tourism representative said.

Vietnam was praised for its peaceful and beautiful pristine beaches, vast rice fields, vivid cities, and an impressive culinary background.
The Telegraph’s Asia commissioning editor wrote” It will be forty years after the fall of Saigon, and Vietnam has come a long way since then.

Its cities are absurdly in-your-face, driven by the buzz of a million motorbikes and the palpable thrust of energy and commerce.”
Rounding out the top 20 list were Barbados, India, Cuba, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Namibia, Mauritius, Italy, Canada, the US, Peru, Tanzania, Botswana, Japan, Australia, Myanmar, South Africa, Maldives, and New Zealand.
